Debongout, affordable and tasteful second-hand decoration !

Are you looking for unique pieces and decorative objects that tell a story ? If so, we invite you to discover Claire's brand-new concept, "Debongout" ! A second-hand decorating brand that lets you create your own unique interior with a selection of new and vintage furniture and accessories. And since good taste is no longer a luxury (that's their slogan!), you'll also be able to find these little marvels at more than affordable prices! What better way to get started in responsible consumption !

The genesis of the Debongout brand.

Claire Leblond-Faure is just out of law school when she sets up her first communications and social media business in 2011. A few years later, she joined an advertising agency as consulting director...

However, Claire's entrepreneurial side had not said its last word !

One evening, as she sat on her sofa, Claire realized how little her furniture and decorative objects had cost. At the same time, she realized that there wasn't a decorating brand that offered both new and second-hand objects of quality AND at affordable prices. The solution was obvious !

"The idea for Debongout just clicked. I immediately had the name and the concept."

At the age of 35, the mother-to-be who was about to embark on another entrepreneurial venture had to make an important decision. Thanks to the encouragement of those around her, Claire finally took the plunge.

In 2019, Debongout was born, a line of second-hand decorations that are affordable and always tasteful!

Claire Leblond-Faure, founder of Debongout.

How did the brand get started ?

Debongout first appeared on Instagram. Thanks to good visibility, the small community then began to grow.

"I was lucky enough that the first Léonie chinée table was bought by influencer Virginie Mes petites paillettes, which boosted the launch."

To further expand, the second-hand decorating brand subsequently raised funds from business angels. This financial support enabled the company to recruit its first staff and purchase its own premises.

What's your fondest memory of your business ?

"I cried at the closing of my first fundraising round, telling myself that this was it, the adventure was about to really begin! For context, we were in June 2020 at the end of the first confinement and at that time I was solo founder and pregnant with my daughter. It was a beautiful moment."

Second-hand decoration: values too... Debongout !

Debongout's 3 key values are :

  • Transparency on the origin of our new products
  • Ecology with second-hand
  • Affordability in price and tone

Debongout is the first decorating brand to mix new and second-hand.

Here you'll find unique, affordable pieces that make sense at a time when we're trying to consume much more responsibly.

What can we find in your Paris showroom ?

"We have a showroom at the back of the courtyard open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 7pm with our latest antique pieces on display alongside our new deco pieces, our collection of the moment. We also have our office on the mezzanine."

Where and how do you select your products ?

The Debongout brand of second-hand decorative items works with second-hand dealers all over France. Individuals can also contact the company if they have products to sell.

For the furniture part, the brand works with craftsmen selected for their know-how all over the world. Production is made to order, thus avoiding overproduction. Finally, for small-scale home decor, Debongout opts for the same approach to stocks, enabling them to offer a constantly renewed collection.

"Our criteria are manufacturing conditions, location and even the origin of materials."

The advantages of Debongout decoration.

Whether new or vintage, Debongout selects and/or manufactures its decorative objects because they are unique and of the highest quality. And because their patina tells a story.

Debongout's little plus ?

There are even 3 at Debongout! To start with, we'll show you how our products look in photos. Delivery at €39 anywhere in France, even Corsica! And last but not least, our easy returns policy.

Claire's advice on how to start acquiring bargain-hunted pieces

Of course, you have to think about your needs and measurements, but above all you have to trust yourself and let yourself fall in love. In the end, decorating always finds its coherence.

Is there such a thing as the perfect mix of old and new ?

Once again, Claire's watchword: trust yourself ! Good taste is a very personal matter.

More than ever, second-hand decorating is THE new way to consume more responsibly and at affordable prices.

If you're looking for a rare gem, Debongout's showroom is located at 4 rue martel Paris 10, where good taste is no longer a luxury !
