How to choose the right appliances for your Ikea Metod or Leroy Merlin Delinia kitchen ?

Choosing your dishwasher

Need a dishwasher for your Metod kitchen from Ikea or Delinia from Leroy Merlin?

How can I be sure of choosing the right model? Will it fit in with my kitchen ?

Choosing a new built-in dishwasher for your kitchen requires precise measurements, particularly of plinth heights. IKEA kitchens have a plinth height of 8cm, while Leroy Merlin kitchens have a plinth height of 10cm. Please note: these heights are not compatible with all dishwashers !

If you buy your appliance from IKEA or Leroy Merlin, there should be no surprises.

However, things get complicated if you want to take it elsewhere. The dishwasher door may come up against the baseboard if it's not compatible. To avoid any problems, we suggest you choose a dishwasher with a sliding system, allowing the door cover to slide upwards when opening. The dishwasher is not installed in a cabinet, but directly on the floor. Here's how it works: you'll need to check the installation diagram for your dishwasher, as shown in the example below :  

If, as shown in the installation diagram, the skirting board height is between 5cm and 10cm, it is compatible. Please note that the height of the IKEA skirting board is 8cm and 10cm for the Leroy Merlin skirting board.

When fitting the Bocklip door, use the fasteners supplied in a bag inside the unit. In the event of door replacement, be sure to keep the hinges !

Choosing your fridge / freezer

Just as with dishwashers, when choosing a new built-in fridge or freezer for your Metod Ikea / Delinia Leroy Merlin kitchen, there are a number of points to bear in mind. By using the Ikea kitchen planner or ma cuisine en 3D Leroy Merlin, the fridge/freezers on offer will be perfectly matched.

Your bottom freezer door should be aligned with the rest of the kitchen units.

You'll need to raise your fridge/freezer with a shelf so that the junction between the freezer and fridge reaches a height of 80 cm. For an Ikea kitchen, this shelf is supplied with the refrigerator column. For a Leroy Merlin kitchen, however, you'll need to buy this refrigerator support.

Check that the top of your appliance does not touch the top of the column housing.

Good to know: the hinges for Bocklip doors are supplied directly by the manufacturer. If you need to replace the fronts, remember to take the hinges with you!

Choosing your oven and microwave

Tip to remember: The sum of the front heights of the microwave oven and the built-in oven should measure 100cm. They will fit perfectly into a Metod kitchen from Ikea or Delinia from Leroy Merlin.

When installing an oven in a column, the shelf designed to support the appliance is deliberately positioned slightly higher than the cabinet front below. This is to prevent the oven door from rubbing against the front of the cabinet. We invite you to choose an oven with an under-oven profile, to cover the edge of the shelf supporting the oven for an optimal finish. The same applies to the installation of your microwave or steam oven, to ensure aesthetic continuity between the appliance and the cabinet.
